EAST LONDON PRESS asks the new 'minister for the horse', Jim Fitzpatrick, what sort of a ride is he taking East Londoners for

And what part is he playing, has he played, in the parallel ride that the "Baroness" of "Bethnal Green" has been taking East Londoners for

We have in East London the country’s worst poverty, failing schools, poor health, high unemployment, and high anti-social behaviour.

And a very high rate of homelessness and de facto homelessness.

And not a word on any of this is heard from one of the highly placed MPs attached to the area.

How is this possible?

Jim Fitzpatrick’s promotion as minister for the horse may not have been featured on the front pages of the tabloids or of the Daily Telegraph. But it ought to be treated with the seriousness that it deserves.

After all, Jim Fitzpatrick is largely responsible for the destruction of Frank Dobson’s ambitions.

What he is not as widely credited for is his role as the fixer that has taken over from Peter Shore in all manner of ways.

Like Peter Shore, Jim Fitzpatrick is acquainted with the ‘Baroness’ of “Bethnal Green”.

Fitzpatrick the fixer never makes a remark that is out of step with say Harriet Harman’s ambitions. Or is likely to upset the delicate equilibrium that keeps Jim Fitzpatrick in place inside the caravan.

What good is that to the East Londoner on the waiting list?

Or on the undignified dole?

Poverty of the MPs is in the grotesque shamelessness... and petty greed

Poverty of the MPs is in the grotesque shamelessness... and petty greed
EAST LONDON PRESS says at 0510 Hrs on Tuesday 31 March 2009: It is not just Harry Cohen, the east London MP who used to flaunt a faker beard and spout strings of calculated socialistic confections... Having lost BOTH in order to stay on the bandwagon, Cohen seems to have also lost any sense of rationality. And dignity. How else could he be saying those things, comparing himself to Churchill in that way? There were indeed many flaws in Churchill’s life and character. But Harry Cohen is not remotely convincing as a comparable Member of Parliament...Or as a member of society... What Cohen’s banal boast tells us about him is that he belongs to a parliament of political, mental, moral pigmies with no evident shame...
